From Ocean Trash to Plastic Free Coffee Makers

Somewhere between California and Japan, there’s a floating mass of plastic so vast it's been compared to a continent. As reported by Popular Science, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch isn’t a single island, but a swirling patchwork of broken bits—bottle caps, fishing nets, toys… even parts of old coffee makers.

It’s not an easy image to think about. But for us, it’s a quiet reminder of why we set out to build differently.

What our customers share with us

Since day one, we’ve heard the same story, again and again: “I had to throw it out just because of a small part.”

People talk about cracked carafes they couldn’t replace, burnt-out heating elements they couldn’t access, machines they would’ve gladly repaired—if only they could.

What emerges is a deep desire to keep things working. Not out of nostalgia, but because it makes sense. Financially, ethically, emotionally.

We listened closely.

A coffee maker designed to last—truly

Our first drip coffee machine is a direct response to these conversations. We designed it to be easy to open, service, and maintain. Because an appliance you can repair is an appliance you can keep. And the longer it lasts, the less you waste.

But there's more.

When something is designed to be disassembled, it’s also easier to recycle at the end of its life. No glued panels, no sealed compartments—just solid parts, built to be replaced, re-used, or recovered. The materials we chose—stainless steel, aluminum, glass—weren’t selected just for performance, but for what happens after the final brew.

And the ocean?

No, a coffee maker won’t fix the plastic crisis. But one designed to be passed on, rather than thrown away—repaired rather than replaced—that’s a small step in the right direction. A quiet response to a world that too often treats objects as temporary.
